Jasper County EMERGENCY NOTIFICATION SYSTEM
The CodeRed™ system provides city officials with the ability to provide pre-recorded emergency telephone notification/information messages to targeted areas or the entire city. In September of 2006, the Jasper County Emergency Management Commission appointed Jim Sparks as the County Coordinator for the agency. A long time resident of Newton, Iowa, Jim was with the Newton Fire Department for 33 years, serving as the Fire Chief the last 14 years of his service. Throughout the years, he has served as chairman of the Emergency Management Commission, as well as serving on the Hazmat Task Force, the E911 Board, and various other community groups.
